Well it's Australia Day on Monday and to celebrate we had a morning tea at work on Thursday where Brendan produced this quiz for us all. Some of you have probably seen it, but it is quite amusing if you haven't. (For the record, I'm actually allowed to stay in the country thanks to a few lucky guesses and a teeny tiny bit of collaboration with Bec.
Oh and for anyone who I may not have told, I'm having a BBQ tomorrow afternoon at my place. Starting about 6. Please feel free to come, bring your swimmers and something. plus drinkies. You and any friends are more than welcome. I'm supplying snags, salad, Pavlova & lamingtons and I'll have chips and stuff and I think Shells bringing cheese so anything else is up to you. Ok this is really random and I don't know if anyone even remembers this, but I seem to recall Rach having one of the songs on her iPod when we were in the Mountains last year.
In about year 9 or 10 in high school I swear to God I gave some people in our group a copy of Danielle Spencers albumn 'White Monkey'. I've recently found my albumn and it's all scratchy and hardly plays. Does anyone still have a copy? Cause I'd really love to copy it back now. haha. I tried Limewire but the only song they've got is Blast Off and I'd really like some of the others for my mp3 player (and car).
Mum & Dad got home today. I have some awesome pressies and they had an awesome time (and only one fight :O ) so we're all happy at the moment. I'm even happier because this marks the end of cooking for Steven. And doing his washing. And Ironing. And wiping his arse and whatever else he wanted :p
I'm wagging uni the next 2 days. I want to get my financial management essay out of the way and hopefully if I do that tomorrow I can bug Jess and see if she wants to do something on Tuesday. Of course I COULD get started on another assessment then, but I figure I have 2 bonus days already so why throw out my 'study' schedule :P
1138 words down, 1362 to go. It's a shame I've run out of things to write about :P
Hello There,
Well, thats 2 weeks down. It's been a bit of a shock to the system. This full time work thing...I haven't done anything full time since the end of High School haha. Well technically I do full time uni..but yeah... haha.
So I'm working full time as a Clincal Coder (or Clinical Co-ordinator...depends who you listen to :P or what ID you read) at the Mater hospital in Newcastle. After the intial settling in I'm now actually somewhat enjoying the job. Well I will be once I finally get the wretched encoder working on my computer and I don't have to rotate between the laptop for the encoder and my desktop for iPM haha.
Up until today I had my own office which has been really good. I've got to admit, when I'm drowning in files and concentrating on extracting I do appreciate my silence haha. Today I lost it though, but it's kind of worth it as I am now in the old convent (yes...AND I DIDNT SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST haha) and have air conditioning...something that was non-existant in my (old) office. Moving today was...interesting... but somewhat fun. Was a nice change from actually doing real work. haha. And the fact that I got paid coding wages to pack boxes and chat to Becca was even better :P Oh and I got paid to go to Jesmond and shop while I waited for the keyman to cut me a bunch of keys for the new office. haha. BEAUTIFUL!!! Even sweeter when the keys weren't even ours...and we had to steal them and sneak off with petty cash :P
Rachie, you have to do your next prac at the Mater. So I can have lunch with you. And you can write amusing things in records for me. And you can keep me amused in the car on the way up :P
Anyway, as much as I'm getting used to this job, I am DEFINETLY glad it's Friday. Like I said, I've never appreciated weekends so much before. Even if last weekend left me so exhausted that I ended up wagging Netball on Sunday night. But it was so worth it. Theres nothing like Cupcakes followed by Thai, followed by a combination of season 1 blue heelers and making fun of the election coverage with your best friend, then a trip to Sydney the next morning to watch a bunch of floats with adds on them and a few marching bands which stopped playing everytime they came near me...
This weekend is Christmas weekend, I need to start cards, put up the tree/lights and maybe think a little more about getting some peoples pressies. Oh and is anybody interested in heading up to the Hunter Valley Gardens one night in the next couple of weeks? They've brought all the lights from Gracelands and have done them all up for christmas. Let me know, because if you're not I'm going to take Courtney & Natalie out one night after work to see them.
Anyway I'm sleepy so it's bedtime for me.
ily, Nikki
