Well it's Australia Day on Monday and to celebrate we had a morning tea at work on Thursday where Brendan produced this quiz for us all. Some of you have probably seen it, but it is quite amusing if you haven't. (For the record, I'm actually allowed to stay in the country thanks to a few lucky guesses and a teeny tiny bit of collaboration with Bec.

Oh and for anyone who I may not have told, I'm having a BBQ tomorrow afternoon at my place. Starting about 6. Please feel free to come, bring your swimmers and something. plus drinkies. You and any friends are more than welcome.  I'm supplying snags, salad, Pavlova & lamingtons and I'll have chips and stuff and I think Shells bringing cheese so anything else is up to you. Please come. And bring people cause I wanna meet more people haha.

Apologies to the original writer, you’re lost in the mists of time.

Woohoo for the first time in my life I am glad I have a brother (ok maybe not the first time since he's been ok in recent years..but still..pretty awesome). Steve just rang me...offering me the BIG W display christmas tree ($200 tree) with all decorations and lights for $70...

So now I have a tree but no house to put it in, but who really cares. I can set it up out here hehe.

YAY. Gotta go battle westfieldians for a park now. *le sigh*

22 December 2008 @ 11:23 am

I just wanted to wish everyone on my flist a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2009 and thought I'd do a bit of an update while I was at it.

A couple of weeks ago I was offered a management position at the Mater so I will be there full time again from Jan 5th in some new fancy role that to this point, none of us are really sure what it entails at this point as we're still developing the position description but I know vaguely and it's going to be the best new-grad position I can think of. It all happened so quickly in the middle of my relief position. I got a phonecall from Bega hospital that morning offering me an interview down there for their medical records manager position and by afternoon I had a way better position far beyond anything I'd ever imagined for my first year outta uni.
I'm really happy about it even though at the moment I'm copping a fair bit from one staff person in particular (3 guesses my pretties...you should only need one) because it means a) I can stay out of Sydney (a massive plus considering how miserable I've been at uni there; although I'm starting to think that's not all unis fault but thats another chapter entirely, and Newcastle doesn't have many HIMs so we're a lot more valuable up there, and depends whether I move up to Newwie or not straight away but the commute is 1 hour flat. No traffic...unlike my frequential  2.5 hour commutes to Sydney. Bleh. And even if I do move I can still come down the coast a few nights a week for netball no worries.) and b) I'm walking into a graduate job where I already know a whole heap of people and I know (to some point, although don't ask me about the CCU nurses station cause I can NEVER find it :P) my way around, which helps. a LOT.

So obviously that means CCUSA is no longer for 2009. But I couldn't say no to an opportunity like this. I shall reassess at the end of next year and see if maybe I will be able to swing the 4 months needed to go over there with the beautiful Riss.

Netball next year will be so strange. Kate & Rochelle have recently moved to Redfern so it's really way to far for them to come down for games and Megan has just accepted a teaching position in Alice Springs so it's DEFINETLY too far for her to come for a game each week (although I couldn't resist questioning her dedication to the team...) so we're looking for 3 replacements for Tuesdays squad. Bridie's going to play I believe and we did have Megans physio playing but I don't know if she'll continue now that Megan won't be around (but I shall call her after Chrissie), so if anyone else knows anyone who wants to play please pass my details along. We're loosing 2 midcourters and a GS but we don't necessarily need to replace those positions; we've got a fair bit of flexibility in the team although we will need to recruit a circle player of some description (one of our defence players is also a brilliant shooter). I've also just been asked to play in another comp at Terrigal stadium on Wed nights with Ferlin and assuming everything will work despite Jo & Tim breaking up the Cobras will continue playing on Sun nights at Tumbi (however if I move, our 24min 5 a side-silly game might not really be worth driving back from Newwie for.)

I don't really know what else to say. I've only really got work and netball to talk about.
Went to CITD on Sat. Was a good day and am very proud of my efforts in talking Kate into coming :P I really think it was my singing voicemail that did it :D I think the highlight of the day was the falling asleep under the tarp and collapsed tent with Roch, Meg & I all waking up at the exact same time...when we realised we were running out of Oxygen and completely smothered :P The highlight of the night may have been Rochelle spilling hot wax on Kate...then spilling the ice all over us all :P Or it could have been David Hobson or Rachel Beck...It's entirely debateable :P But because she might read this I'll have to say it was Danni in her carriage pulling costume that really made the night :P

Having christmas up at Coal Pt this year with Emma, Matt & Sarah (Happy 21st for today Sarah!!!) then having Courtney & Natalie down for dinner. Nothing too exciting but should be good to catch up with everyone. NYE is still under discussion. Michelle & I are waiting to see if Jo has to work or not and what time she finishes cause we can't confirm anything until then. I'm not fussed though. Sometimes its just easier to stay at home at the moment.

I watched 601 of the L Word last night....it's not the same show that I started watching back in 2004. It's darker and not as well written. Characters that had started to evolve have done a 360 whilst others are unrecognisable and wasted (I'm sorry but Helena is wasted as she is now!! & TiBette are even a little bit boring..and I ship them) and the same stories are being repeated. I really think that they made the right decision wrapping it up now (although possibly about 3 seasons later than it should have been)..and I don't know if I'll be able to sit through the spin off with Leisha Hailey...Alice used to be funny..now she's mildly irritating (and no doubt going to be the one to murder Jenny. lol. A spin off in Prison maybe?!? Either that or it'll be all Papi and Gabby Deveaux. Ew).
I won't go on to spoil but the ep has been leaked on YouTube if anyone hasn't seen it yet. Otherwise it goes to air in the US in early Jan and probably in Australia never :P (although it might be played at 4am on Foxtel at some point :P Channel 7 hasn't shown an ep since s2.)

And the other news from TV land..Jolene Andersons joined the cast of Rush (as a 'Shannon' we believe). I love Jolene but I just can't see her in an action show. Ricki was a great character and I liked her a lot, but in all honesty her character was a little one dimensionable. I don't know whether this was the script writers fault (Ricki was introduced about the same time they started ruining Charlotte) or her interpretation but she did 'Nice' really well but didn't get a chance to do much more.
Rush, particually since she'll be replacing Grace, it really needs more than just 'nice' and whilst I really REALLY hope she can pull it off because I really like her, I don't know that she'll be able to. Then again, I had my hesitations about her in Tell me on a Sunday and she completely blew me away so I'm definetly going to give her a big chance. Kick some arse Jolene.
Hopefully I'll be able to fit in a trip to Melbourne to check out some filming in about May next year :)

And finally it is 69 days, 2 hours, 23 minutes and 4 seconds until  Trina, Elyse & I bob out into the Pacific on our own cruise :D YAYYYY!!! (Probably 22 minutes now though :P)

Love Nikki

We won the Minor Premiership last week :D YAYYYYY!!!

And we just won the Major Grand Final by 2 goals whilst playing down so...

ACHILLES ARE THROUGH TO THE 2008 NETBALL GRAND FINAL :D

. ..Kate couldn't make it and the grand final will be Roch & Kates last game in the squad so we really have to do it for her.

Tuesday 16th December, 9.15pm. Come and watch Achilles battle it out at PCYC for NUMERO UNO!!!

The only bad news (and it's pretty bad) is that Megan went over really heavily in the last quarter on her ankle...I think it could be broken. That girls a tough cookie and we had to carry her out...still waiting on news there.

In other news. I survived my first week of management relief and am now well into my second...despite a slightly terrifying presentation I got stuck with to a whole bunch of doctors today. Eeek. SCARY!!! But I survived. And I'm probably better for it. Tomorrow should be more fun; have an extended morning tea with a 3M rep who will spoil us rotten with pressies (they have the BEST pens with little post its in the WORLD!!!)  haha. And I have office decorating on the agenda.

Put my christmas tree up last night...I've come to a conclussion that when Trina isn't around that I really don't spend much time on the net...my phone bill however, increased exponentially.... Damn you biatch for moving houses and damn you even more dodgy Telsta aka 'we screw up your phone lines'!!!

Anyway...yeah...netballs the best fucking thing in my life right now :D If only we didn't have to stop for Xmas...

So I've finished uni forever; exam only took 15mins which was good because I went out afterwards and collected my assignments and got 2 HDs so I didn't even really need to rock up in the first place...was expecting instant gratification, a big weight lifting off my shoulders, impulsive singing and rainbows and happiness shooting from every which way....

It's not happening.

I'm bored stuck at uni waiting to go to a dinner that I don't even really want to go to tonight...SO why am I going? Because I think that from 4 years of uni, however shit they have been, that  I really should have a couple of photos to remember it by, and maybe 1 or 2 happy memories. $20 000 should buy me that much, yeah??
And I've gotta work in the morning so it's the perfect excuse to leave early if it's crap.

PS: I hate Jessica, Katrina, Mat & Wayne all so very much right now. Trust you all to get me addicted to a show where my favourite character DIES after only 11 episodes. My heart is so broken right now. I thought it was gonna be Dom....... :( It was GOING to be Dom but then Claire got her greencard to the US and decided to go so they CHANGED THE STORYLINE and killed my Gracie!!! Guess who spent last night crying.

Michael: "This is what you do. When your kid's about 5, you buy a pig."
Dom: "Not many pigs in the city mate."
Michael: "It's gotta be small enough so the kid can lift it."
Dom: "A pig?"
Michael: "And then, every day, you get the kid to lift the pig off the ground. Every single day. The boy will grow with the pig, and his body will adapt to the change in weight as the pig grows. So eventually, you'll have a little kid that can lift a really big pig. That's what I'd do."

Dom: "So you think we're having a boy?"
Michael: "Even better. Imagine a little girl that could lift really big pigs."

I need to get a life.
I don't see anyone anymore, I'm over it. I'm sick of being sad. And I'm sick of being lonely.
I spent Friday night writing Criminology and Saturday is looking like it's going to be shaping up much the same. Not because I needed to write it last night, or even tonight, but because I had no other options. Fuck. When the highlight of your week is a televised netball game at midnight on a Saturday night, you know your lifes pretty much up shit creek.

Question? Where do people meet new people? I never made any decent friends in Uni that I want to spend any time with outside of class. Everyone at works a gazillion years older than me & Bec, who works most weekends at various weddings. And my high school friends, the only real friends I've really got, most of them I haven't seen in over 4 months.
I've tried meeting new people over the net, but it's hit and miss. I'm slowly getting over trying to organise anything. I'm not the slightest bit religious and I can't pretend to be so most youth groups are out. And the idea of going out clubbing and getting trashed constantly makes me almost like the idea of being locked in a cupboard eating rats for the next 2 years. All I've got is netball 2 times a week, and now that Jo's moved, I don't even know how long Sundays squad will last :( How long is she going to keep commuting back to the Coast just for a game of netball each Sunday night? And I'm not athletic enough to go and join another social sporting team without knowing anybody.

I never realised how abnormal I was until I had a look around and realised what a fucking lonely life I truly have. And now I don't know if it's too late to get out without completely relocating...or if even that would be futile. I'm going backwards and living the life of a 98 yr old widow at 22. I'm starting to think CCUSA or Melbourne are very good ideas. I was never a hermit before, and I can't keep doing it now.

(Sorry [info]afrohair , I didn't mean to turn your post about a boring Friday night into a rant about my pathetic existence in general. ♥)

The Australian Netball Squad 2008/2009

Sharelle McMahon VIC
Natalie von Bertouch SA
Kate Beveridge WA
Rebecca Bulley VIC
Bianca Chatfield VIC
Catherine Cox NSW
Susan Fuhrmann WA
Laura Geitz QLD
Mo`onia Gerrard NSW
Kimberlee Green NSW
Renae Hallinan VIC
Clare McMeniman QLD
Natalie Medhurst SA
Lauren Nourse QLD
Susan Pratley NSW
Julie Prendergast VIC
Kimberley Purcell NSW
Caitlin Thwaites VIC

A bit disappointed Thwaites is still in the squad. I honestly think she's a little overrated. Yes she is tall but so is Beveridge and Cox and we already have two brillian GAs in Macca & Prats. Good to know that Hughes has officially been dropped; although I would have thought she would have stayed while Thwaites went making place for Beveridge.

Stoked that Purcell has been invited into the squad. Her performance on Van Dyke was inspiring and both her and Bulley have improved so so much in the last 6 months it's like completely different players. I don't think Purcell will make the team just yet, but simply training with the squad should be brilliant. I think Bulley might have a chance though...her performance this season, she's played for Aust once before I believe but then kinda lost form in season 07 before regaining with the Swifts...it really justifies her as the replacement for Lizzie.

I don't really know much about McMeniman. I think she's defence but I haven't seen much of the Firebirds in action this season, however with Prenders, Gerrard, Chatfield, Bulley, Fuhrmann and Purcell all BIG contenders for the defensive positions I can't see her getting a lookin. Unless she's a mid-courter. I really don't know...

Green deserves her spot. And needs to be paired with Von Bertouch desperately. I think it's our only other option now that Lauras left. As for a WD...I'd hate to see Gerrard out of the circle, and Prenders is such a waste in WD....so I don't know what I'd suggest there. Bulley can play it, I think it's her only chance of getting propper court time at this stage... Geitz I THINK is a midcourter and Hallinan is good...but I don't know if she's quite ready to play for Australia yet...although I am a fan of hers...

Gee I love team announcement days. They give me something to think about on the train :P

Oh & OT but Rachies birthdays coming up. What are we doing? Dinner? Lunch? Sacrificial burning???

Ok, bedtime. I'm screwed.
ily,
Nikki

PS: SWIFTS WON THE GRAND FINAL. I'VE RAVED ABOUT THIS EVERYWHERE ELSE BUT LIVE J0URNAL BUT SERIOUSLY WE ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD. AND AGAINST ALL THE ODDS CAME THROUGH. WE ARE LEGENDARY. AND ALL OTHER SUPPORTERS SHOULD BOW AT THE SWIFTIES FEET.

PPS: ACHILLES ARE ALSO UNDEFEATED. AND WE ARE READY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD AFTER BEATING THE TOP TEAM LAST NIGHT...IMPRESSIVELY BEATING THEM. CRUSHING THEIR BONES....AND WE WEREN'T EVEN PLAYING OUR BEST.

22 July 2008 @ 12:56 pm
I'm having a cleaning day.

I've spent the last 4 weeks cleaning every other room of the house to avoid cleaning my own room because it's just so damn cluttered at the moment. Anyway, you don't really want the details of the masses of paper I've spent the morning going through, nor the clothes that I am currently in the process of culling, but I need a break and thought I'd update with something other than a notification of TV Land (of which I've already employed a marketing manager, a riding instructor, rides developer and a true-to-life Sea Patrol voiceover "Hands to boarding stations, hands to boarding stations, assume damage control state 3 condition Yankee!" plus several others who are still developing their job titles).

Anyway point is; I was sitting in my room giggling to myself because I just found my year 10 school diary.

And what a book it is.

It's got photos of All Saints, random internet friends and random school people all through it. A VERY full timetable (remember the days where going to a full day of classes was the norm :O ), a VERY full birthday calander, it must have been the year that I attempted to fill up the calander...and from the look of it I came very close. Key dates include the anniversary of Stephs death, Kristy Halls puppies birthday, and Killers' (Jess's chook) Death Day.

In 2002 we also held a funeral for Lyle of All Saints in English class. Claudia announced that she wants to drink boiled sewerage. A song about SOHCAHTOA, Kristy got her braces off, Frannie fell asleep in Chicago at 'Lamecock', some very interesting snippets on the 'Rules of Flirting' from Marshall Law, 'How to know if you're obsessed with All Saints' and page after page of random Blue Heelers and All Saints quotes, a few poems composed by the lovely bitter Ms Barwick titled 'Confessions of a Bron and Ben Hater' on the same page as my wedding announcement. A wonderful hilarious argument between Kristy & I in English, Carreen, Frannie, Viv & I were obsessed with the word 'Brigadoon', Rachael owed me 50c, Zac died on All Saints (I'm going on a journey now, a trip into the sky. I'm on my favourite harley, waving you goodbye. I'll be telling jokes to angels, there'll be nowhere for them to hide. And you'll remember why I laughed when I was by your side. When you think of me you'll know, I'm happy with my friends. And I'll be watching over you with a smile that never ends.", Mrs Doul complained about a cold bed pan so Bron gave her one that had been in the freezer, we sat our school certificate and went on year 10 camp.

Oh and my favourite quote from the whole diary:

'NO! The penalty goes against Ellis. Twenty seconds on the clock and Ellis is stood out of play. New Zealand shoots for the match. NO! It's a miss! Ellis, Ellis, ELlis hauls in the rebound. Australia run it down court- they need to score.
Forty-One apiece. There is a turnover. No, Tombs gets it. The timekeeper is up. Forty one apiece. Australia with a late charge! McMahon, McMahon shoots. She's got it. She's got it!
Sharelle McMahon has won the match for australia. Unbelieveable scenes here in Christchurch. This is one of the greatest sporting performances by any team on this planet!"
- Mark Aiston.

No wonder I never got any photography assessments in and failed year 10 French; clearly 2002 was the year of the diary. Forget getting anything productive done....I'm so glad I kept this. And wasted all that valuable class time writing in it. IT's a million times better than a yearbook!

Good Morning fine friends,

It has been a while since I posted on LJ so it's natural that I return with as wild a thought as I left with (no, I'm not going to rant and rave about uni...alhtough it's warranted given the latest screwups).

I am going to drop out of uni.

And create TV Land.

All I need is a few million to start up with; which I am sure the bank will lend me no worries given my astonishing earnings in the last financial year. So lets put finances aside and concentrate on this brilliant idea.

Where to locate?

Well the obvious answer to this is 'Drovers Run'. The famous property from McLeods Daughters is up for sale here, it's not big enough to farm on...but the 55 hectare property is more than big enough to fit dam off a section and float the decomissioned Fremantle class HMAS Hammersley upon it.

Other attractions include:
The Crimplex from Stingers: Channel 9 still own it according to the yellow pages. I'm not sure what use they could have for it that would be better than mine; and therefore I am happy to purchase it off them for cheap and relocate it to my newly acquired Freeling property.

PJs Office and the Imperial from Blue Heelers: Jess and I may have been thwarted in our plans to steal PJs desk and door from the Powerhouse museum 2 years ago, but that doesn't mean that the former producers of the show will continue to resist now that I have a serious business proposition. I'm just not too sure how PJs office survived the bomb blast...and I swear I saw that photo of Maggie burning...Hmm.

All Saints. Ward 17. Got closed down by the evil admin at All Saints hospital. Therefore I'm sure they wouldn't mind donating the set to a worthy cause such as 'TV World'. While I'm at it, I'll also take Charlotte. The butchering of her character was done callously and I can assure her that she will be treated with much more respect and be given all the quirky Charlotte lines she likes when she is based in TV Land. I must note here that there has been a recent attempt to reignite the awesomeness of Charlotte (thank you Tammy for demanding something juicy!!) and if this suceeds then she is welcome to stay on in the All Saints ED, in that case, I wonder what Libby Tanner is up to these days....

As mentioned above, I believe the former HMAS Hammersley would be put to better use in my TV Land then at the bottom of the ocean as a reef, and I am willing to purchase it for the greater good. I'm sure Tourism SA will chip in with some of the finances as this idea is sure to create billions of dollars for its tourism industry.

On top of this, I'm sure that there are plenty of ex-neighbours and ex-homeandaway starlettes who would be willing to wander around the park dressed up as their former characters. Of course they would have to wear signs to identify who they were.

In addition to these major attractions I am also willing to purchase any of the crap items that keep appearing on e-bay from the Mcleods Daughters yard sale ( here). And am willing to steal medical equiptment from my own work to pass off as the genuine items from All Saints.

I'm going to start advertising for staff now as well. So if you are interested please let me know. Jessica, I will need a marketing manager..well an assistant, as I have already come up with all these brilliant ideas on my own, but if you're interested I'd love to speak to you and see what you could come up with.

If you have any other suggestions, please let me know through my comments. Keep in mind that the bloodied up uniform from where Maggie breathed her last breath before moving promptly into the Witness protection program is completely off limits due to the emotional stress attached to it.

 Hey There,

Random question but does anyone have a copy of Front Page I can steal?? A friend and I want to play around with some webdesign but I don't have it on this computer and my (limited) HTMLs gone bye byes cause it's been years since I used it.

Also. Is Patto doing anything for her 21st? And does she still have the same mobile number?? My lifes crazy busy at the moment (the webdesign is just another form of procratination really. Nothings going to happen until 3 weeks time when the last of my big assignments are handed in.) and I need to know if I have the day free or the night or whatever because it's also mums birthday that weekend and I'll have to start skipping classes because I have some major work due the next week.

In other news. I hate uni more than EVER. Did the worlds worst presentation (ok second worse, I think the worst was in year 10 french in a role play :P ) and it's just made me even more negative about the whole thing. I'm so sick of it. Uni completely sucks the life out of me. I go through massive slumps in semester and I hate it. My mind never stops racing, I get completely miserable and just negative about EVERYTHING.  I was so happy over summer when I was working full time and not having to worry about stupid assignments. Right now the only place I am happy is at work, and that's just not cool. Totally daggy. But at least its somewhat social and for 9 hours I have no choice but to NOT think about uni.
I NEED to get out of there. I know it's less than a year but every time I go I can just feel myself getting dumber and more down. Last week I didn't go at all. Got more work done from home then I ever would have done there. Theres no benefits, academic or social from going to uni so why waste my freaking time and money driving there. Seriously. I got up on wednesday and it was raining so I decided not to go. PISSWEAK!!!

3 weeks to go and most of my evil assignments will be out of the way and I'm thinking of just taking off somewhere for 5 days. Screw Uni. I don't even care now if everyones busy/poor/can't be bothered. I'm at the point where I will go alone. I seriously don't know how I'm going to scrape through the next 7 months. I'm so bitter at uni I don't even bother to hide my disgust towards the whole crappy course anymore.

Ok this is really random and I don't know if anyone even remembers this, but I seem to recall Rach having one of the songs on her iPod when we were in the Mountains last year.

In about year 9 or 10 in high school I swear to God I gave some people in our group a copy of Danielle Spencers albumn 'White Monkey'. I've recently found my albumn and it's all scratchy and hardly plays. Does anyone still have a copy? Cause I'd really love to copy it back now. haha. I tried Limewire but the only song they've got is Blast Off and I'd really like some of the others for my mp3 player (and car).

Mum & Dad got home today. I have some awesome pressies and they had an awesome time (and only one fight :O ) so we're all happy at the moment. I'm even happier because this marks the end of cooking for Steven. And doing his washing. And Ironing. And wiping his arse and whatever else he wanted :p

I'm wagging uni the next 2 days. I want to get my financial management essay out of the way and hopefully if I do that tomorrow I can bug Jess and see if she wants to do something on Tuesday. Of course I COULD get started on another assessment then, but I figure I have 2 bonus days already so why throw out my 'study' schedule :P

1138 words down, 1362 to go. It's a shame I've run out of things to write about :P

It's time for a meme!

Pick a fictional character from a fandom I know and I'll answer the following questions to the best of my abilities.

1) What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her. Likewise if you dislike the character.

2) Is he/she important to the general plot?

3) Can you relate to this character at all? Do they grip you emotionally?

4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?

5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by their relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)

6) Is there anything about the character you would change?

7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how do you see yourself interacting with him/her? (Would you get along well? Fall in love with? Dislike? Friendly rivalry? etc etc)

8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?

9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about (if you dislike) to someone whose new to the fandom?

10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?

Taken from an interview at a  L Word Convention with Leisha (Alice), Erin (Dana) & Kate (Shane).

Q.Last season when the Papi storyline was introduced it was said that Papi would give Shane a run for her money, what do you think about this storyline?
Kate: Do you think it’s really possible? I think that the idea was interesting in a theory, but I just think it didn’t work on film. The character was rushed because of time. I don’t know what it was but it didn’t work, it didn’t evolve as they planned. It happens…just like some storylines don’t go, so Papi just disappeared.
Leisha: It’s just like Shane and Carmen’s dog from season 3.
Kate: Yeah, it just went for a walk and never came back.

and a bit further on:

Q. Is Shay’s coming back?
Kate: No, Shay’s gone, he may come back, but there’s no reason why.
Erin: He’s walking the dog.
Kate: Yes, he’s walking the dog with Papi and Carmen

So there you are guys, that's whats happened to Maggie. All these years when I've believed her, Steph & Oscar were hiding out in some deadbeat town in the Witness Protection Program when they've actually been walking Shane & Carmens dog ...

You know I'm a bit slow. I only just put two and two together... this tear inducing, not relieved by anything, throbbing headache that is driving me completely crazy COULD ACTUALLY BE related to my two bumps on the head last night (And I'm not talking about the attempted headstand, although that probably isn't helping matters but more about the one which involved the back of the lounge and a loud cracking sound!!)

Oh. And my neck hurts too from my head massage...but that one was TOTALLY worth it.

Patto, if you ever read this, was SO GOOD to see you again and cannot wait until your 21st.

Manda, Was great to finally meet Kim. Apologise to her for me please. I don't know what was wrong with me earlier last night (anything later I blame on the bump on the head & the fizzers, but before that I don't know what it was...possibly a lack of nutritious food of late, damn easter) but I was seriously creeping myself out...let alone someone who had never met me before. I haven't been so...animated...in a while :P (Could be something to do with seeing Patto again as well.) Thanks for having us.

And because an LJ post by Nikki (particually a drought breaking one) isn't complete without tv and netball mentions, I shall continue below.

1) NETBALLS GOING BACK ON THE 1st APRIL for me & 14th April for Nationals :D YAY!

2) Virginia looks really pretty tonight (but does anyone know what happened to Mossy?).

3) RICKI & DAN ARE GETTING MARRIED :D

4) L Word season finale has left me with mixed feelings. TiBette & Helena = YAY! Alice- = NAUGHTY! AND NOOOO!! WHY WOULD YOU DO IT!!! and Shane...well I hurt for you when you hurt, but Niki...EW!!! I ALMOST felt sorry for crazy Jenny!!!

Anyway, suprise suprise, I've got another txt so I'm going to go do what the hammer in my head is telling me to do&  lie back down and watch All Saints.

Ily Darlings.

Hello There,

Well, thats 2 weeks down. It's been a bit of a shock to the system. This full time work thing...I haven't done anything full time since the end of High School haha. Well technically I do full time uni..but yeah... haha.

So I'm working full time as a Clincal Coder (or Clinical Co-ordinator...depends who you listen to :P or what ID you read)  at the Mater hospital in Newcastle. After the intial settling in I'm now actually somewhat enjoying the job. Well I will be once I finally get the wretched encoder working on my computer and I don't have to rotate between the laptop for the encoder and my desktop for iPM haha.

Up until today I had my own office which has been really good. I've got to admit, when I'm drowning in files and concentrating on extracting I do appreciate my silence haha. Today I lost it though, but it's kind of worth it as I am now in the old convent (yes...AND I DIDNT SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST haha) and have air conditioning...something that was non-existant in my (old) office. Moving today was...interesting... but somewhat fun. Was a nice change from actually doing real work. haha. And the fact that I got paid coding wages to pack boxes and chat to Becca was even better :P Oh and I got paid to go to Jesmond and shop while I waited for the keyman to cut me a bunch of keys for the new office. haha. BEAUTIFUL!!! Even sweeter when the keys weren't even ours...and we had to steal them and sneak off with petty cash :P

Rachie, you have to do your next prac at the Mater. So I can have lunch with you. And you can write amusing things in records for me. And you can keep me amused in the car on the way up :P

Anyway, as much as I'm getting used to this job, I am DEFINETLY glad it's Friday. Like I said, I've never appreciated weekends so much before. Even if last weekend left me so exhausted that I ended up wagging Netball on Sunday night. But it was so worth it. Theres nothing like Cupcakes followed by Thai, followed by a combination of season 1 blue heelers and making fun of the election coverage with your best friend, then a trip to Sydney the next morning to watch a bunch of floats with adds on them and a few marching bands which stopped playing everytime they came near me...

This weekend is Christmas weekend, I need to start cards, put up the tree/lights and maybe think a little more about getting some peoples pressies. Oh and is anybody interested in heading up to the Hunter Valley Gardens one night in the next couple of weeks? They've brought all the lights from Gracelands and have done them all up for christmas. Let me know, because if you're not I'm going to take Courtney & Natalie out one night after work to see them.

Anyway I'm sleepy so it's bedtime for me.

ily, Nikki

It's times like these that I am so bloody proud to be an Aussie!!!

Well done girls. You did us proud!!!

Nothing is going to stop me from making Singapore in 2011. Rochelle and I decided tonight. We are not letting another World Champs pass without being there in Green & Gold!!!

So damn proud!!!

(I will voice my thoughts on Normas 1/2 time decision sometime in the near future when I stop crying, cheering, squealing and randomly bursting into rounds of Waltzing Matilda!!! It's a bit hard to remain pissed off when you can't stop grinning!!!)
